Location: Vankleek Hill / Remote

Reports to: Purchasing and Planning Manager

Job Summary:
The Purchasing Coordinator manages the purchasing of raw materials and packaging materials. He or she ensures the inventories of materials are kept at optimum levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and send purchase orders
  • Monitors purchases through the delivery process
  • Contribute to the integrity of company purchases through verification and maintenance of all required purchasing documents; {contracts, vendor set up, etc.}
  • Ensure that purchased materials are utilized properly through effective communication regarding inventory items
  • Plan for, purchase and manage inventory of materials, e.g. calculate requirements, issue PO’s, etc.
  • Communicate new products to suppliers
  • Coordinate canning with supplier and production
  • Create production orders in SAP for canning
  • Verify invoices and send to Accounts Payable for payment
  • Interact with suppliers and vendors
  • Create SKUs and bills of material in SAP for materials and finished goods
  • Provide various reports on purchasing and production quantities and inventories
  • Act as back-up for Purchasing and Planning Manager for certain tasks, such as production planning
  • Participate in change projects as assigned by senior management
  • Other duties shall be assigned as required
Requirements:
  • 2 years in procurement / purchasing.
  • Post-secondary education in a business-related discipline preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft, Google and ERP software.
  • Detail oriented, well organized and decisive.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of purchasing procedures.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves with a true desire to help and be part of the team.
  • Love of the craft beer industry or desire to work in an organization that is a leader in in sustainability and giving back to the community is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral English communications
  • Proficiency in French is a definite asset.
Work Conditions:
  • Interacts with employees and management.
  • Ability to lift up to 50LBS.
  • Remote schedule determined by supervisor.
  • Occasional domestic travel required to different locations where inventory occurs.
  • Overtime may be required.
