Role

Reporting to the HSE managers of the CCG Heavy Civil and Industrial groups, the HSEQ Administrator will be based out of the offices in North Vancouver and Port Coquitlam. The intent of the position is to provide direct support to the HSE departments and offer an opportunity to gain HSE knowledge for those aiming for a more advanced position in the field.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain statistics and records and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations
  • Review documentation for accuracy and provide feedback to personnel
  • Inventory safety related training of workers
  • Regularly monitor safety document compliance of workers and subcontractors
  • Keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed
  • Provide support to the HSE Managers, which may include but not limited to: data entry, file maintenance, assisting with orientations and minute taking.
  • Liaise with Human Resources, where required.
  • Follow and be an advocate for all rules, policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, company specific HSE program, and all other applicable legislation.
  • Be involved with site operations and planning to advocate safety in all aspect of operations.
  • Coordinate and play and active role in safety meetings.
  • Assist with audit processes, where required.
  • Obtain basic knowledge of industrial operations and posses the ability to effectively and efficiently manage safety concerns received
  • Be available for communications/administration purposes at all times, within reason.
  • Be ready willing and able to assist with occasional field operations, ERP requirements and corporate activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with site workers/supervisors, subcontractors and clients.
  • Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports
  • Assist with claims and injury management

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, along with an attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) and other safety software programs.
  • Excellent exposure to databases.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational/prioritizing skills with great attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in operating office equipment (photocopier, scanning etc.)
  • Good judgement to proactively and independently solve problems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
