PFC Flexible Circuits Ltd, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead and drive the overall strategic operations of our Scarborough Ontario manufacturing facility.

  • Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards in line with budget. May have P&L responsibility.
  • Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results
  • Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards
  • Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).
  • Assists company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Business, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a CMS/EMS/Flexible Circuit or related industry with strong background in SMT operations and backend process, including test.
  • Experience in printed circuit board or semiconductor manufacturing industry; technical background in rigid and flexible printed circuits (FPC’s) materials and processes is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain/manufacturing processes in a mix of long cycle and short cycle businesses, low volume and high volume. Experience in engineered products, micro technology, advanced materials is an asset
  • Develop and manage appropriate performance and efficiency metrics, to identify and support continuous improvement activities such as Lean Six Sigma,
  • Experience in working with manufacturing based technology, processes and knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety practices is preferred,
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP
  • Experience with P&L responsibility for Operations, delivering operational results (revenue, costs, cash)
  • ideally has supplied high quality products and services to a range of OEM customers in sectors such as - medical devices, optics, telecom, industrial controls, sensors, military and aerospace
